Brighton and Hove High School-Senior School

We are very proud of the ways in which Brighton & Hove High School fosters a stimulating and dynamic community within which girls aged 11-16 discover and develop their individual gifts and talents.

As a member of the Girls' Day School Trust (GDST) we are committed to promoting high standards in all that we do. Our outstanding examination results are testament to our resolve to maximise each individual's potential. Our broad academic and extra-curricular programme is integrally linked to a supportive pastoral structure designed to encourage participation and to inspire confidence.

We believe that encouragement is the cornerstone of confidence and that developing independent aspiration is the key to unlocking the potential and abilities in BHHS girls. It is our experience that pupils raise their personal expectations and aspirations through inspirational teaching. We encourage them to think for themselves and to discover the excitement which intellectual curiosity brings, as well as a sense of self worth and individuality.

We believe a happy girl is best able to achieve her full potential and we place strong emphasis on ensuring that they are fully supported by our pastoral care system and our caring and supportive teachers. Our central location, strong community link and day school environment also helps ensure that girls all are girls are able to fully participate in family and community life.

The girls, staff and parents are as proud as I am to be a part of this vibrant and successful community. We hope you will come and visit us, and we look forward to giving you a warm welcome.
